Shirley Single Blend Corn Poppy seeds produce ethereal annual flowers featuring delicate, silk-textured blooms in a spectrum of colors including scarlet, pink, salmon, and white, many with contrasting centers. These classic poppies reach 18-24 inches tall with finely dissected, blue-green foliage and slender stems. Developed in the 1880s by Reverend William Wilks, they lack the dark basal blotch of traditional corn poppies. Direct sow in early spring or fall, as they strongly resent transplanting. Thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. Self-seeds readily for naturalized displays. Ideal for cottage gardens, cutting gardens, and meadow plantings where their graceful presence creates ephemeral beauty.
